Jasmine Herlt, Managing Director, Development and Outreach, joined Human Rights Watch in 2004 when she opened the Toronto office as the Canada Director. She is responsible for overseeing the fundraising and outreach efforts of the Committees in Canada and Australia. In addition, Herlt acts as the “Emergency” City Director and the Development department’s personnel director.
Prior to joining Human Rights Watch, Herlt was the Executive Director of the Canadian Foundation for AIDS Research. Herlt graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School and practiced corporate law at McMillan Binch, and specialized in employment law at Crown Life Insurance where she was in-house counsel.
