Niku Jafarnia
Niku Jafarnia is a researcher in the Middle East and Africa division investigating human rights abuses in Yemen and Bahrain. She previously worked with the Center for Civilians in Conflict (CIVIC), where, as the Middle East and North Africa Regional Researcher, she led research and advocacy on civilian protection issues across the MENA region. Prior to her time with CIVIC, Niku was a legal fellow with the Accountability and Redress Unit of Mwatana for Human Rights, a Yemeni civil society organization. She has several years of experience providing legal assistance and conducting research with refugees and asylum-seekers, and was a Fulbright grantee in Turkey. Niku holds a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School and a Master of Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School.
