Digital Investigations Lab

The Digital Investigations Lab makes ethical and responsible use of technology to investigate and expose human rights abuses globally. The DIL employs open-source research, geospatial analysis, data analysis and spatio-temporal research to document violations, and advocates for the enforcement of human rights. While civilian interviews and testimonies remain the cornerstone of our research, we use methodologies such as satellite imagery analysis to track the destruction of villages, reconstruct sites of attacks using 3D models and mine big data for patterns in arrest rates or the deportation of immigrants.
