Hundreds of thousands of people have been forced to flee their homes and hide deep in the bush in the Central African Republic (CAR), where the Seleka rebels recently seized power. The rebels tore through the country, burning entire villages and murdering civilians, including women and children. They may have set the stage for even more violence – and suffering – to come. 

UNICEF has urged CAR’s new government to investigate recent allegations of killings of children amid the renewed violence.
