Abbott ran for election on the platform of stopping such boats with asylum seekers.

In Nigeria, some 50 students were shot dead as they slept, when gunmen stormed their dormitory at an agricultural college early Sunday morning. It appears to be the latest outrage in the campaign of widespread and systematic murder and persecution by the militant Islamist group Boko Haram.
