The Human Rights Dimension of E.U. Immigration Policy

Many thanks to the Academy of European Law for inviting Human Rights Watch to be part of
this very timely discussion regarding the state of play of post-Tampere immigration and asylum
policy in the European Union. For those of you new to Human Rights Watch’s work, it is an
international non-governmental organization that monitors human rights violations in over
seventy countries worldwide. The flagship office is in New York, with regional offices in other
capitals, including London, Brussels, Moscow, and Washington.
