Jackson Gandour

Jackson Gandour is the NYU School of Law Fellow at Human Rights Watch for 2020-2021. He works in the Economic Justice and Rights Division and researches economic and social rights. 

Prior to joining HRW, Jackson researched the human rights impacts of new technology in the UK welfare state with Professor Philip Alston in his capacity as UN Special Rapporteur on extreme poverty and human rights. He has also worked as a legal intern with the Independent Drivers Guild, a labor organization representing Uber and Lyft drivers in New York City, and with innocence projects in New Orleans and Chicago. While in law school, he participated in the International Organizations Clinic, where he researched data governance policies, and in the UN Diplomacy Clinic, where he served as a Legal Adviser for the Permanent Mission of Belize to the United Nations. 

Jackson received a law degree from New York University School of Law in 2020 and bachelor's degrees in philosophy and telecommunications from Indiana University Bloomington in 2016.
