Russia: Attacks on Abortion Undermine Women’s Rights
Shrinking Reproductive Options, Growing Pressure, Disinformation
We envision a world in which systems of oppression and harm are dismantled, and women and girls regardless of race, ethnic origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, socioeconomic status, and other forms of intersectional experience can live with equality, dignity, and safety. Autonomy is a precondition for equality. Achieving this vision requires systemic change across governance, economic, environmental, and justice systems. We do this by generating evidence that exposes violations and patterns of harm; identifying and activating levers of change; pressuring those with power to act; and supporting organizations and movements to push forward together. Our work is grounded in intersectionality and anti-colonial thought as gender-based discrimination is shaped by sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, race, ethnicity, and socioeconomic status, among other factors. We expose and challenge the systems that create or worsen harm based on these intersecting factors through rigorous research, advocacy, and deep partnerships with those most affected.
