Chiara Cera
Chiara serves as a Press Officer in the Communications Division at Human Rights Watch, working within the Global Press Desk to support media engagement and outreach efforts. She also focuses on managing relationships with Italian media outlets and overseeing communications with the Italian press.
Before joining Human Rights Watch, Chiara worked at the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Geneva. There, she contributed to communication and program initiatives aimed at supporting first responders in the Emergency Response Section.
Chiara holds a Master’s Degree in Politics of Conflict, Rights, and Justice from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Interpreting and Translation. She is fluent in English, Italian, and Portuguese, and is currently learning French.
