The death of a doctor in China - who tried to warn early on about the coronavirus outbreak but was silenced, only to then be infected himself - has sparked an unprecedented level of public anger and grief in China.

Since 2013, some 138 Salvadorans who were deported back home from the United States have been murdered, new HRW research shows, and more than 70 others were beaten, sexually assaulted, extorted, or tortured.

At a diplomatic meeting next week, governments should recognize the "devastating effect" that explosive weapons have on civilians in cities, towns, and villages.

Pregnant women, women in labor, and newborn babies have been rescued from a maternity hospital in north-eastern Syria after it was targeted by airstrikes.

The Turkish government seems to be "removing, detaining, and putting on trial" local Kurdish politicians as a way of wiping out political opposition in the country.

And finally, a human rights lawyer and a journalist have reportedly been attacked in Chechnya.
