Peter Wetherbee

Peter Wetherbee currently serves as Executive Assistant to the Executive Director of Human Rights Watch. Prior to joining Human Rights Watch in 2024, Peter worked with the Oslo Forum team at the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue in Geneva, Switzerland and provided fundraising and communications consulting services to institutions including Harvard Law School, Switzerland for UNHCR, Geneva Peacebuilding Platform, and numerous arts organizations in New York, Geneva, and Dallas, Texas.

Peter holds a master’s degree in international affairs from l’Institut de hautes études internationales et du développement (IHEID) in Geneva, Switzerland, with a specialization in global philanthropy, and a dual bachelor’s degree in human rights and international studies from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, with specializations in nonprofit management and public policy. He speaks English and French.
