Caro Loutfi
Caro Loutfi (she/her) is Canadian-Lebanese and has over a decade of experience working to achieve systemic change and secure human rights. She is currently the Associate Director at Human Rights Watch focusing on Development and Outreach for San Francisco. Previously she served as the Executive Director of Apathy is Boring, working in a non-partisan manner and on a national scale to engage millions of Canadian youth in democracy. She increased the organization's scope and impact into a multi-million dollar organization, advised the Prime Minister's Office on Youth Policy and was a regular contributor in the media. She was named one of the top 25 women of influence in Canada for this work. She has also held various consulting roles and worked across the UK, Lebanon and Canada.
Additionally, she is the Chair of the granting committee for the Inspirit Foundation working to combat Islamophobia and promote reconciliation. She was named in the top 30 under 30 by the Bay Street Bull in 2020, was named one of 19 prominent Canadians by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, was named an Arab to Watch by the Canadian Arab Institute, and was awarded the Walker Humanitarian Award by Concordia University. Caro holds a Masters Degree in Public Policy from Oxford University and a Bachelors of Fine Arts from Concordia University in Montreal.
