Candy Ofime
Candy Ofime is the Leonard H. Sandler Fellow in the Middle East and North Africa Division monitoring human rights developments in Mauritania. Before joining Human Rights Watch, Candy worked on gender-based violence and business and human rights issues in Papua New Guinea in the Columbia Law School Human Rights Clinic. She previously interned with Human Rights Watch in the Terrorism/Counterterrorism Division in Paris, Diakonia International Humanitarian Law Resource Centre in Jerusalem, and the international law firm Baker McKenzie in New York. She holds two bachelor’s degrees in Law and in Economics from Panthéon-Sorbonne University and a law degree from Columbia University where she received the Edwin Parker Prize for her study of international and comparative law.
