Letter to President-elect Lula da Silva

Dear President-elect da Silva: I am writing on behalf of Human Rights Watch to urge your administration to commit itself to strengthening respect for human rights in Brazil. Based on your long-standing advocacy for the welfare of marginalized populations, we are confident that you share our conviction that more must be done to address the chronic human rights problems that affect the lives of many Brazilians.
