Madam Chair and members of the Committee:

Good morning. My name is Jo Becker, and I am the advocacy director for the Children’s Rights Division of Human
Rights Watch. I also serve on the steering committee of the U.S. Campaign to Stop the Use of Child Soldiers,
and from 1998 until 2001, was the chair of the steering committee for the international Coalition to Stop the Use
of Child Soldiers.
