In a targeted attack on women's health in the United States, House Speaker Paul Ryan said today that Republicans will move to strip all federal funding for Planned Parenthood as part of the process they are using this year to dismantle 'Obamacare.' President-elect Trump's campaign actions and rhetoric, including statements that women should be punished for abortions and his own calls that Planned Parenthood "should absoulutely be defunded" (2:10 mark in video below), signaled new challenges were ahead for women's rights in the US. For many people, Planned Parenthood is their only source of health care.
