PR Daily, a Ragan Communication publication, declared Human Rights Watch the winner of its annual Nonprofit PR Awards Prize for Best External Publication or Report for 2013. The award is based on a publication that integrates a strong connection with the nonprofit and its readers. Ragan's award competitions are the most prestigious in the public relations and corporate communications industry.

The 2011 annual report tells the story of Human Rights Watch researchers’ on the ground investigations during the tumultuous early days of the “Arab Spring”, and its advocates in key global capitals pressing for human rights protections.

“We're excited about this award because it will bring Human Rights Watch's work to a new audience,” said Michael Burlingame, senior director of marketing. “By exposing grave abuses, demanding justice for the victims, and exerting pressure where it counts we can bring about lasting change.”
