We write to urge the Board of Pardons and Paroles to commute the death sentence of Alexander Williams, who is scheduled for execution on February 20. Diagnosed with schizophrenia-a profound psychiatric disorder that affects the processing of thoughts and beliefs and nearly every level of functioning-Mr. Williams is on death row for a crime he committed at the age of seventeen.
