On July 3, 2001, Uzbek human rights defender Ismail Adylov was released from prison after serving two years of a six-year sentence for anti-state activities. His case was featured in our March 2000 report, "Leaving No Witnesses: Uzbekistan's Campaign against Rights Defenders."
