Open Letter to the Members of the European Parliament Ad Hoc Working Group on Turkish Prisons

We understand that the ad-hoc committee of the European Parliament which was formed to monitor the crisis in Turkish prisons is planning to visit Turkey on June 6-8. Human Rights Watch is very grateful that the EP is taking a close interest in the new F-type high security prisons, but fears that this visit will be too late and does not reflect the urgency of the situation. We strongly urge you to undertake this mission without delay.
