On May 30 Human Rights Watch posted a story commenting on the then-apparent killing on May 29 in Kyiv of Russian journalist Arkady Babchenko. Later on May 30 we removed the story from our website when it was confirmed by authorities in Ukraine that security services had, with Mr Babchenko’s consent, staged the alleged-killing, and that Mr Babchenko is alive and had not been attacked in any way.
