Vartan Gregorian (In Memoriam 1934-2021)

Human Rights Watch mourns the passing of Human Rights Watch Emeritus Board member Vartan Gregorian, who passed away in April 2021 at the age of 87. He had been an Emeritus member of the Board for over a decade and a long-time Board member before that. Those who remember him recall Vartan’s intellectual vibrancy and boundless energy. His seemingly endless creativity made tremendous contributions to Human Rights Watch’s Board and the organization as a whole.
