Sadie Statman
Sadie Statman is a 2022 Weil Legal Innovator serving as an Associate on the Washington Advocacy Team at Human Rights Watch. Interested in the intersection between international development, human rights, public policy and law, Sadie has worked for InterAction, USAID's Bureau for Africa, and the ACLU of Georgia. Prior to joining Human Rights Watch, Sadie spent a year living and studying in Beijing as a Schwarzman Scholar at Tsinghua University, where she studied U.S.-China relations and China's development strategy in Sub-Saharan Africa. Sadie holds a B.A. in sociology and global development studies from Emory University and recently graduated from Tsinghua University in June 2022 with a Master's of Global Affairs. Sadie will be pursuing a JD degree at Harvard Law School beginning in the Fall of 2023.
