Roberto Dañino has served in various leadership positions both in the public and private sectors. He has served as Prime Minister of Perú, Ambassador to the United States, and Senior Vice President and General Counsel of The World Bank, as well as Secretary General of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID). He was also the founding General Counsel of the Inter-American Investment Corporation.


In the private sector he has practiced corporate law as partner and Chairman of the Latin American Practice of Wilmer, Cutler & Pickering (now Wilmer Hale). He has also served on the boards of various corporations and nonprofit organizations in Perú, the United States, Canada, South Africa, Spain and the United Kingdom. Currently he is a Regional Advisor for Goldman Sachs and a member of the international advisory board of Everis (Spain and Peru). He also serves in the boards of directors of Inversiones Centenario, AFP Sura/Integra, and chairs the Latín America Board of the Open Society Foundations.


Mr. Dañino earned law degrees from Harvard Law School and Universidad Católica del Perú. He has been granted various honors, including La Orden del Sol (Gran Cruz) from the Peruvian government, as well as La Orden de Isabel La Católica from the Kingdom of Spain.
