Matthew Reysio-Cruz

Matthew Reysio-Cruz is an Assistant Researcher in the Environment and Human Rights Division and is based in New York. He was previously the Division's 2023-2024 Finberg Fellow. Prior to working at Human Rights Watch, Matthew was an investigative journalist in Manila for the Philippine Daily Inquirer, the country’s top newspaper. While there, he reported on social and economic injustices, education, and former President Rodrigo Duterte’s war on drugs. He holds a Master’s in International Affairs and a Master’s in Investigative Journalism from Columbia University.
