Julie Mai
Julie Mai is passionate about human rights and creative advocacy. With experiences of injustices ingrained into her family's history, Julie connects her sense of responsibility to defending human rights to the challenges that her parents encountered as Vietnamese refugees. Prior to becoming involved with supporting development and outreach activities in San Francisco to pressure for change at the government and policy level, Julie worked with grassroots organizations, community organizers, and activists to educate the public about social justice and inequity through music, art, and media. Julie also has a strong interest in criminal justice reform - she currently volunteers for San Quentin and interns for Cut50. Julie will graduate with a BS in Health Education from San Francisco State University in 2016.
