Ashley “Ash” Pria Persaud

Ash is the Senior Creative Coordinator at Human Rights Watch. While in this role, Ash completed her Master’s degree in Public Administration, with a specialization in Advocacy and Political Action, from New York University.

With a background in leading campaigns and fostering community engagement, Ash served as a Shop Steward for unionized staff, as well as a Co-Chair for the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Taskforce at Human Rights Watch. Prior to joining HRW, Ash led in her work as a Community Outreach Specialist for the Center for Popular Democracy and an AmeriCorps Member on the Civic Engagement Team with City Year.

Throughout her career, Ash has been unwavering in her commitment to amplify the voices of marginalized groups. Her passion for social justice fuels her continuous efforts in identifying and implementing equitable solutions, ultimately working towards a more just and inclusive society.
