World Refugee Day 2018

More than 700,000 Rohingya refugees fled Myanmar since August 2017.

As the EU has made it even more difficult for Syrian and other refugees to reach Europe via Turkey, more and more asylum seekers are taking a more dangerous route to Europe across the Mediterranean.

In the US, immigrants who present themselves at a border to claim asylum—something they have every right to do under US and international law—sometimes also have their children taken away from them.

Men, women, and children who sought refuge in Australia have been forcibly transferred to the Pacific island nations of Nauru and Papua New Guinea, where they can suffer severe abuse, inhumane treatment, and neglect.

At the end of the day, we are all human no matter our refugee status and deserve to be treated with dignity.
