Prize for Peace Effort in Colombia

(New York) – In response to the Nobel Committee awarding the 2016 Peace Prize, please find the following response from Human Rights Watch, which can be attributed to José Miguel Vivanco, Americas director:

“We congratulate President Santos on winning the Nobel peace prize and hope it bolsters renewed efforts within Colombia to achieve a peace deal with a strong justice component, the basis for a lasting peace after more than half a century of bloodshed.”
