Nora Noralla (She/Her) is a Research Assistant with the LGBT Rights division. Her engagement with the human rights field started in the wake of the 25th of Jan revolution in Egypt. She has worked in different capacities with multiple national and international NGOs including Cairo 52 Legal Research Institute, Organization Intersex International, Article 19, & Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University. Her work focuses on the intersectionality of sexual and bodily freedoms with other fundamental rights under international law, as well as Shari’a and human rights. 

She holds a Master’s degree in Human Rights Law from the Central European University and authored different articles and publications including the forgotten Islamic human rights document & ElKarakhana: History of Sex Working in Modern Egypt between Legalization and Criminalization. In 2019, she was awarded the Diana Award from the Diana Foundation as an acknowledgment of her work advancing sexual and bodily freedoms in the MENA region.
