Oriana van Praag
Oriana is a senior associate at the Americas Division of Human Rights Watch. Previously, she was a research consultant at the Woodrow Wilson Center for International Scholars, and worked for four years at the Brazil Initiative and the Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies at Brown University. Oriana interned at the Latin American Program of the Woodrow Wilson Center and the Environmental Justice division of the Colombian organization Dejusticia (Center for Law, Justice, and Society). She has published two reports on the Venezuelan refugee crisis with the Wilson Center and several articles in publications such as Americas Quarterly, The College Hill Independent, and Brown Political Review. Oriana graduated from Brown University in 2019 with an A.B. in Development Studies. She speaks English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
