Nelson González

Nelson González is a research assistant in the Americas Division, primarily covering Colombia. Prior to joining Human Rights Watch, he worked as a researcher monitoring the implementation of the 2016 Peace Agreement at the Ideas for Peace Foundation, as well as at the Office of the Inspector General of Colombia, focusing on drug policy and security guarantees. He also served as a consultant for the Peace Commission of the House of Representatives. Nelson holds a degree in Political Science from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia and a master’s degree in public policy from the Universidad de los Andes (Colombia).
