Joya Fadel

Senior Associate, Children's Rights Division

Joya is a Senior Associate in the Children’s Rights Division and is based in Paris. Prior to joining Human Rights Watch, she interned at a Syrian human rights NGO where she supported communications and advocacy initiatives relating to international human rights law and UN human rights mechanisms. She is also interested in research and methodology, as she has worked for the Middle East Center of Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and has published an article on populism in foreign policy discourse.

Joya holds a Master’s in International Public Management from the Paris Institute of Political Studies (also known as ‘Sciences Po’) and a Bachelor’s in Political Science/International Affairs from the Lebanese American University.
