David Lakhdhir is a partner in the law firm of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP. He has been co-head of his firm’s office in London since 2002, and headed its office in Tokyo from 1993 to 1997. He was Chair of the International Law Committee of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York form 1999 to 2001 and a Visiting Scholar at the Indian Law Institute from 1983 to 1984. He is Chair of HRW’s Asia Advisory Committee, Chair of the London Committee and a member of the Council Steering Committee. David’s wife, Linda, who is also a lawyer and member of the Executive Committee in London, volunteers in the London office with the Asia Division focusing on freedom of expression legislation in Asia.
