David Fischer is the Media Officer for Germany, where he focuses on online communication. Prior to joining Human Rights Watch, he worked as a journalist reporting for German media outlets, including ZDF, Hessischer Rundfunk, and Mainzer Allgemeine Zeitung. David also worked with the communications teams of the United Nations Information Center in Mexico City and the NGO Mare Liberum in Greece and the Aegean Sea. He holds an MA in Human Rights and Democratisation from the Global Campus of Human Rights in Venice and the University of Coimbra and an MA and a BA in British and American Studies from the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz.
