Courtney Tran
Courtney Tran is a John Gardner Fellow for the Health and Human Rights Division, focusing on attacks on healthcare. Before coming to Human Rights Watch, Courtney was an intern with the Universal Rights Group in Geneva, editing reports before publication and supporting research on the effectiveness and efficiency of the Human Rights Council. In the past, Courtney interned at Survival International, where she worked to spread awareness of the challenges that tribal groups face to their sovereignty; at the International Rescue Committee, where she assisted the resettlement of newly arrived refugees to the San Francisco Bay Area; and at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, where she supported research on the use of social media by terrorist groups. Courtney holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of California at Berkeley, where she was a Regents’ and Chancellor’s Scholar.
