Abdelrahman Ayyash

Abdelrahman Ayyash is a senior research assistant in the Middle East and North Africa Division. He holds an MA in Global Affairs from Bahçeşehir University, Turkey, with a focus on civil-military relations in Egypt and Turkey. He has translated three books on civil-military relations and the Muslim Brotherhood. His research has been published at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, The Century Foundation, and the Arab Reform Initiative. Prior to joining Human Rights Watch, Ayyash worked as an editor for the Arabic edition of HuffPost, HuffPost Arabi.
