In times of humanitarian crises, Human Rights Watch sends in specially trained investigators armed only with laptops and mobiles - the E-Team. They interview the witnesses of atrocities, often under perilous circumstances, before their stories are scattered or suppressed. This film follows Paris-based couple Anna and Ole as they make plans to smuggle themselves into Syria following reports of widespread killings. Others head to Libya, following the fall of Gaddafi, to document war crimes by both the regime and the rebels. The commitment of the investigators, their care and their profound humanity, is skilfully captured under often-difficult circumstances by Academy Award winner Ross Kauffman (Born Into Brothels) and his Emmy Award-winning co-director Katy Chevigny (Election Day, Deadline).
