Stephanie Collins

Associate, Disability Rights Division Follow @StephanieHRW

Stephanie completed her Bachelor’s degree at the University of Oregon’s Clark Honors College where she majored in Chinese and Political Science. While at university, she interned in Shanghai, studied at Dalian University of Technology in China with the Department of State’s Critical Language Scholarship program, and studied at the University of Oxford in England, which enabled her to complete her thesis comparing media coverage on persons with disabilities in America and China. These international experiences as well as the research she conducted for her thesis led to her passion for international human rights.

Previously, Stephanie worked with the Chicago Lighthouse for the Blind at the Rock Island Arsenal as an army contract specialist. Before that, she interned with Mobility International USA (MIUSA) where she organized events and wrote articles about international women with disabilities
