Patrick Thompson
Patrick is a researcher in the Crisis, Conflict and Arms Division at Human Rights Watch. He joined Human Rights Watch in 2025, having previously documented violations of international human rights and humanitarian law in Israel/Palestine, Ukraine, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Armenia/Azerbaijan through both open source and field-based research. Patrick has also managed peacebuilding and humanitarian mine clearance projects in Africa, Asia and Europe. He holds an undergraduate degree in Law from the University of Bristol, and an M.A. in International Peace and Security from King’s College London.
