Adam Frankel is a coordinator in the LGBT Rights program, and conducts research on the rights of transgender immigrants in the United States. Prior to joining Human Rights Watch, he worked as a researcher for Global Rights: Partners for Justice, where he investigated rights abuses against Afro-descendant transgender women in Brazil, and presented his findings to the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Latin American studies and sociocultural anthropology from George Washington University. He speaks English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
