Myrto Tilianaki is a senior environmental advocate at Human Rights Watch, based in Paris. Drawing on HRW's research into how fossil fuels, deforestation and climate displacement harm communities, she advocates for policy change across national governments, the EU and UN climate processes. Her work spans pushing governments to phase out fossil fuels, defending forest protection legislation and advancing the rights of communities displaced by climate impacts. 
 
Prior to joining Human Rights Watch, Myrto was Climate Advocacy Officer at the French NGO CCFD – Terre Solidaire, focusing on carbon offsetting and its impacts on land rights. She has also worked in advocacy and communications at HRW's UK office and in press and communications at Médecins sans Frontières. She holds a Master's in International Cooperation and Development Policies and a Bachelor's in Political Science and International Relations, both from the University of Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne.
