Dear Secretary Powell,
We are writing in advance of your meeting with Russian Foreign
Minister Igor Ivanov to ask that you make accountability for
human rights abuses in Chechnya a priority in your meeting
agenda. We greatly appreciate the role that the U.S. played in
securing passage of the resolution on Chechnya at the United
Nations Commission on Human Rights.
