Rohingya Tell Horror Stories of Rape, Killings by Burmese Army

The Burmese military has conducted a campaign of arson, killing and rape against ethnic Rohingya that has threatened the lives of thousands.

Since the October 9, 2016 attacks by Rohingya militants on government border guard posts in northern Rakhine State, Burmese security forces in operations against suspected militants have inflicted horrific abuses on the Rohingya population, as reported by refugees who fled the recent violence.

Burma’s failure to end military abuses against Rohingya and hold those responsible to account demands an independent inquiry with United Nations participation, Human Rights Watch said.
