German Election

Germany will hold general elections on September 24. Refugees are one of the most debated topics in the campaign, and foreign policy issues such as Russia and Turkey are high on the agenda. But what do the parties say about human rights in foreign and migration policy? In which direction does German foreign policy move on human rights in Russia and Turkey? And is there any hope that the new German government will  introduce binding rules for businesses to enforce human rights due diligence? The Germany experts of Human Rights Watch comment on the election campaign and the platforms of those parties which most likely will be elected to the Bundestag.
