A total of seven countries in the Asia-Pacific region are known to produce cluster munitions. Aside from Europe, this is the largest regional concentration of producing countries. Cluster munitions have been used in Afghanistan, Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam. At least 11 countries in the region are known to currently stockpile the weapon. A total of 16 states from the Asia-Pacific region agreed to adopt the Convention on Cluster Munitions (CCM) in Dublin on May 30, 2008.
