Updated: Human Rights Watch Cluster Munition Information Chart

Human Rights Watch has updated its informational chart providing a global overview of cluster munition policy and practice. The chart also highlights twelve cluster munitions which are among the most widely used, those that have caused the most civilian harm, and/or those that would pose the greatest threat to civilians if used due to their unreliability and inaccuracy. As a founder of the Cluster Munition Coalition (CMC), Human Rights Watch calls for a prohibition on the use, production, stockpiling and trade of inaccurate and unreliable cluster munitions. Human Rights Watch believes that any country that is serious about acting urgently to protect civilians from the deadly effects of cluster munitions will join the recent initiative spearheaded by Norway aimed at developing a new international treaty.
