Leila Swan is the Senior UN Advocacy Coordinator, based in Geneva. Leila coordinates Human Rights Watch’s work with the Universal Periodic Review and UN Treaty Bodies and facilitates its advocacy work at the UN Human Rights Council and other human rights mechanisms. Prior to joining Human Rights Watch, she worked with the Interamerican Commission on Human Rights and the Ministry of Justice in Spain. She holds bachelors degrees in Law and Political Science from Universidad Pontificia Comillas-ICADE in Madrid and Sciences Po in Lyon, and a Masters degree in Conflict Resolution and International affairs. Leila is fluent in English, Spanish and French.
