Joyce Bukuru is an Advocacy Officer for the Global Advocacy division of Human Rights Watch in New York. She is responsible for coordinating and conducting the organization's United Nations advocacy work with members of the Security Council, General Assembly and other UN organs and agencies. Prior to joining the Global Advocacy division, she worked in Human Rights Watch's Africa division. Previously Joyce worked for the Social Science Research Council, a not-for-profit international organization based in New York, and International Crisis Group's UN office. She holds a bachelor's degree in Political Science and English Literature from McGill University. She speaks English, French, and Kirundi.
