This is the eighth annual report by Human Rights Watch on the U.S. administration's human rights record. As in previous years, the countries reviewed were selected because they raised important human rights issues, because they have been the focus of substantial research by Human Rights Watch, and because they present a geographically and politically diverse picture of the administration's human rights policy.
